About
Carolyn Hoffman has been in private practice since 1991. She uses an integrated approach to help her patients achieve an optimal state of health, via advanced Manual Lymph Drainage and specialised therapeutic massage techniques.
Carolyn has trained in the Vodder method of Manual Lymph Drainage. She uses this method on patients before and after surgery to aid faster recovery and healing, to reduce swelling and bruising, and the after-effects of anaesthesia.
Carolyn has also trained in the Casley-Smith method of Complex Lymphatic Therapy,(now known as Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy) which enables her to work on lymphoedema patients.
She worked for 15 years in her practice situated within the total healthcare environment of Vincent Pallotti Hospital, where she worked closely together with a wide variety of other health practitioners, including plastic and reconstructive surgeons, vascular surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, oncologists, gynaecologists, dermatologists, GPs, physiotherapists and orthotists/prosthetists.
She now works from her private practice situated in Claremont, Cape Town. She loves sharing her knowledge and experience, and has taught advanced MLD techniques at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. She also offers private training in MLD and pregnancy massage, and conducts educational talks and information sessions to select groups.
